The God of Awesome is back. Unfortunately, his second coming is to announce pricing and new paint colors for Scion’s 2012 xD Release Series 4.0 and xB Release Series 9.0.
What, were you expecting something else?
For 2012, Scion will build 800 xD Release Series 4.0′s, featuring the exclusive Blizzard Pearl paint job and 16-inch smoked-platinum alloy wheels. Inside, the xD wraps soft-touch seating surfaces in winterfresh white-stitching, and carpeted floor mats with the Release Series logo. It also includes the standard 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine good for 128 horsepower and up to 33 mpg highway. With prices starting at $16,980 for a manual transmission, and $17,780 for the automatic, both including destination charges, that’s an $1140 premium over 2011 base model prices.
Scion will build 1500 of its 2012 xB Release Series 9.0′s, which sees similar changes to the xD, including an exclusive Hot Lava paint scheme, a honeycomb front grille, perforated synthetic suede front and rear seat covers, and illuminated badges. And yes, there’s plenty of room inside “for a god and his crew,” the cherry-locked nymphet featured in previous videos. New xB Release Series 9.0 will start at $18,840 and $19,790, for manual and automatic transmissions respectively, including destination.
And that’s pretty much it, unless actually, you happened to notice the Scion FR-S cameo in the almighty Thundiferous’ episode of Cradles.
