Got a Volkswagen Golf R? Do you also have an iPad and the Golf R Drivers Forever app? If you’ve got that fortunate combination, you could be even luckier: Volkswagen could whisk you away on a grand German tour, where you could visit Berlin, Volkswagen’s home of Wolfsburg, and the tiny hamlet of Nürburg, where we hear there’s some sort of a racetrack or something.
Two people will win a six-day, seven-night trip to Germany where they will tour the Volkswagen plant and the beautiful, gleaming Autostadt. Then, they’ll head to Nürburg for lap time in a Golf R on the Nürburgring, along with professional driving instruction. Lastly, they’ll visit Berlin for a sightseeing tour of the country’s capital. Transportation and luxury accommodations will be provided by Volkswagen. No actual golfing may ensue, though we hear now’s not a good season for it in Germany anyway.
To win, all you have to do is pen a diatribe (manifesto, promulgation, love letter) in 256 words or less on why you, Mister Lucky Golf R Driver, are the “ultimate fan,” and deserve to win the whole shebang. It’s like a college admissions essay, but instead of four years of drinking and midterms, you get a week’s worth of German sightseeing. And the beer is better.
The contest is open to any U.S. Volkswagen owners (preferably Golf R drivers) 25 years of age or older, and runs from April 12 to May 14. The winner will be drawn on May 28 and notified a month after. You have 30 minutes to complete this section. Number 2 pencils, only. Please write within the borders.
