White Pontiac G6 heralds End of General Motors Brand

2009 Pontiac G8 Right Cliff

Well, now it can be said. Pontiac, the 82-year old brand of General Motors, is officially dead. According to the Detroit News, the last Pontiac for the U.S. market rolled off the assembly line on Wednesday, November 25, 2009. For all you trivia buffs, the last model was a white G6 sedan.

Many workers stopped to pose for photographs with the last models as they made their way down the assembly line.

The ending of production of the Pontiac G3 Wave, a subcompact built in Mexico and sold only in Canada, will cease in December.
