Volvo to Recall 2011-2013 S80 for Transmission Software Glitch

2011 Volvo S80 Front Driver

Volvo today announced a transmission recall for 1469 S80 sedan’s. Affecting model year’s 2011-2013, the recall will upgrade software to the transmission control module.

The recall, which begins July 19, will address an error in the TCM that could prevent downshifting when coasting. Without the upgrade, some models could stall, increasing the risk of crash or injury.

Volvo will notify owners and perform the upgrade free of charge. Owners may contact Volvo for more information at 1-800-458-1552 under campaign number 255, or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration under campaign ID number 12V317000 at 1-888-327-4236.
