Volvo is recalling more than 8,000 2007 model year S80 sedans due to a potentially faulty power steering hose. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that the power steering hose may have been misrouted, and pressure could build up in the system. If this happens, the hose could burst, making it much more difficult to steer, and increasing the chance of a crash.
All 8,406 of the 2007 Volvo S80 models were built between March 8, 2006 and May 16, 2007. However, all owners of 2007 Volvo S80s should contact their local dealerships to find out if their vehicle is affected by the recall. If it is, the service technicians will inspect the hose, and make any needed repairs free of charge.
