On this episode of Motor Trend’s World’s Fastest Car Show, The team takes out the famous 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT to some of the most iconic spots in Los Angeles. Two words describe the famous coupe: brutal sophistication. Are the SLS AMG’s lines as beautiful on the track as they are in the city?
Justin Bell takes us to the streets of Los Angeles to some of the spots most favored by Hollywood directors. The first stop is Grand Avenue, where movies like The Dark Knight Rises, Iron Man, and Inception were filmed. We jump over to the 2nd Street Tunnel, and are reminded of Con Air, Blade Runner, and Independence Day before we are taken to the 6th Street Bridge where pieces of Swat, Transformers, and other movies were filmed.
We know the SLS AMG GT looks fantastic on the streets, but what about on the track? Bell travels to Willow Springs Raceway, another famous movie spot to test out just what the SLS GT can do. It goes from 0 to 60 in under four seconds, has a top track speed of 197 mph, and produces 583 horsepower.
