Victoria Beckham — singer, reality star, and wife to soccer god David Beckham — has added car designer to her already long list of accomplishments. At this year’s Beijing Motor Show, the Range Rover Evoque “Victoria Beckham” Special Edition made its debut onto the runway.
We first became aware of Ms Beckham’s involvement with the hot-selling Land Rover Evoque back in 2010. Gerry McGovern, Land Rover and Range Rover Design Director, states she would be coming onboard as “Creative Design Executive” in designing the special model. Stated McGovern, “Victoria Beckham is a talented British fashion designer and is extremely knowledgeable about great design and trends.” As the special edition Range Rover Evoque debut approached, we speculated what touches Ms. Beckham would add to Land Rover’s first compact crossover. Would exterior colors include jade and fuchsia? What about the interior? Would leather seat covers include a similar color? And what about the wheels? Well, Victoria utilized none of our suggestions. As you can see in the video below, there’s a reason she’s was once called Posh Spice.
Automotive.com’s take: Honestly, we think Victoria Beckham did a fine job with the Land Rover Evoque, and look forward to her work on the production version of the Evoque convertible (if it’s approved, that is). David is one lucky man.
