Motor Trend this morning released the thirteenth episode of Wide Open Throttle on its YouTube channel, starring Jessi Lang and her review of Acura’s new ILX, and guess what? Trolls abound!
We’ll be honest here: This video doesn’t have the flashy edits, exotic locales, or booming soundtrack of Motor Trend’s Ignition reviews, but then again, a premium compact hybrid sedan doesn’t exactly inspire that kind of treatment either. Instead, the video follows Lang inside a 2013 Acura ILX Hybrid through the scenic rolling hills of Malibu, California. Lang quickly points out that she’s right in the demographic that Acura claims is in its crosshairs for the ILX, and her analysis subtly teases the ILX’s market-branded eccentricities, similar to our own first drive, and questions Acura’s decisions on pricing, placement, and interior amenities.
Of course, interweb anonymity and indecency conspire in the comments section to ruin what is an otherwise solid review of a car that is also solid, if uninspiring. What do you think of Acura’s new ILX? And, please, keep it clean.
