When looking for a new truck, some buyers look for payload capacity or class-leading horsepower but for the new F-150 owner appearing in Ford’s latest ad, the decision was simple. For him, buying American was the most important factor in purchasing a new truck.
Ford indirectly attacks automakers General Motors and Chrysler in the new ad, which is shot in the form of a mock press conference with owner Chris explaining why he bought an F-150. When a reporter questions whether buying American was important to him in choosing a new truck, Chris responded: “I wasn’t going to buy another car that was bailed out by our government,” he said. “I was going to buy from a manufacturer standing on their own.”
