Bruce Wayne has driven his fair share of lavish vehicles during his time as Gotham’s caped crusader. The billionaire-playboy-by-day turned masked-vigilante-by-night has wrecked countless Batmobiles during his time defending Gotham City, not to mention a Lamborghini Murcielago or two. Now it’s Chrysler’s turn (possibly) to see one of its vehicles blown up on the big screen as a 2012 300S has been transformed into a crime-fighting machine fit for duty on Gotham City’s streets.
The video below is a minute-long version of the 30-second commercial that hit the airwaves last night. This extended version features mechanics and machinists working feverishly to change the 300S into a menacing vehicle. The television spot, named “Imported from Gotham City,” is a play on Chrysler’s award-winning commercial featuring the title “Imported from Detroit.”
The production version of the 2012 Chrysler 300S features a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that puts out 292 horsepower and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Batman’s latest perspective ride cruises the streets of Gotham on 20-inch polished alloy wheels and is wrapped in 245/45R20 all season tires.
Chrysler turned a production model 300S into the 2012 300S Dark Knight Rises edition but it’s unknown if this special edition will be made available to the public in the future. It’s also unknown if the matte black 300S will actually see any action in the upcoming film “The Dark Knight Rises.” But we do know one thing: That’s one cool looking 300S. Check out the minute-long commercial of the 2012 Chrysler 300S Dark Knight edition below.
