Chrysler is hoping the new 2012 300 sedan will make as great an impression as the original model did years ago. While some believe the Chrysler 300 borrows a few styling cues from the Rolls-Royce Phantom, the full-size luxury sedan continues to refine the formula that made it so popular in the first place. That includes talking about the V-6 model’s new eight-speed automatic transmission.
The latest commercial for the Chrysler 300 features Detroit locals getting a good glimpse at the boldly styled black sedan rolling through their neighborhood. A new eight-speed transmission now available in the 300 gets a shout-out while the camera focuses on premium details inside the car’s cabin. When Chrysler’s 3.6-liter V-6 engine is mated to the eight-speed automatic transmission in the 2012 300 sedan, EPA-rated fuel economy jumps to 19/31 mpg city/highway, up from 18/27 mpg when the V-6 is mated to the five-speed automatic transmission.
Would you be more likely to buy a Chrysler 300 based on these commercials?
