I like German cars, and I like hatchbacks, and needless to say, the world’s highest-performing four-cylinder engine has its own allure. What am I talking about? The new Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, of course. But swap that engine in to a larger enticing sedan frame, and you have the already confirmed, U.S. bound Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG, easily one of the most anticipated new cars not yet on these shores.
Mercedes-Benz is increasingly building its compact-car lineup, and the addition of the CLA-Class, and B-Class electric drive are examples of this. It’s believed that Mercedes may tempt American buyers with an A-Class in 2014, but that remains to be seen. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG is coming, and will pack the 355-hp turbocharged four-cylinder seen in the video below, the most powerful ever at that size. And if our CLA45 AMG has the same exhaust note and rapid shift-quality of the A45 seen here, we’ll be in for a treat.
