The new 2014 Mazda6 appears ready to take center stage. Ahead of the show, the Japanese automaker is releasing a series of teaser videos, and Mazda wants us to know that this is not the Takeri concept unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show last year.
While it may not be the Takeri concept, the videos show the Kodo design language is alive and well on the 2014 Mazda6, which we expect to debut at this year’s Paris auto show. The concept’s sensuous curves have clearly been adopted on the upcoming production car, and we can see many similarities on the front end—teased in the first video—and on the side, featured in the second video.
The 2014 Mazda6 will join a host of very good midsize sedans, but Mazda is hoping its new Skyactiv technology will be as well received on the Mazda6 as it has been on the 2013 CX-5. Mazda recently announced it would increase CX-5 production to meet demand. The CX-5 and Mazda6 are expected to receive a diesel engine option in the future.
