Really, Aston Martin didn’t have to do much to get us to pay attention—like the automaker’s previous top-of-the-line-DBS supercar, the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish offers up a lot of pretty, and that addictive exhaust note that distinguishes an Aston Martin from the super-pack (It’s election season). Apparently the folks at AM are aware of this, as the video below gladly embellishes on the exhaust. Considering we were glued to our screens the entire 124 seconds, we’ll let it slide.
The 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish first made its debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este as the Project AM 310 Concept, and more recently stateside at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The Vanquish comes as a two-seater, but is also offered in a 2+2 setup, which allows you to show off to multiple people at once. Powered by a refined 6.0-liter V-12 engine that produces 565 hp, the Vanquish jumps from rest to 60mph in 4.1 seconds. Inside, sumptuous leather and Alcantara are generously applied. And in case a person were to want to hear anything other than that intoxicating exhaust, AM has outfitted the 2014 Vanquish with a 1000 watt, 15 speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system. We suspect this will get as much use as the oxygen masks we hear about every time we fly.
Of course, Aston Martin has given the Vanquish a price worthy of a supercar, too. Starting $279,995, and including delivery, a gas-guzzler tax, and possibly an “awesomeness tax”—although the latter is speculation and unconfirmed as of yet—the Vanquish will only make it in to a very limited number of hands. For the rest of us, you can watch the Hammerhead Silver 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish rip through the Italian countryside in the video below:
