There is a real possibility that we may see another hybrid on the highways and byways of the world. No, it won’t be a gas/electric hybrid. It will be a car/motorcycle hybrid.
Australian inventor Phillip James is offering such a vehicle, called the TVA Gazelle, that can achieve 100 miles per gallon because of the inherit efficiency in the vehicle’s design. The car is not much wider or heavier than a motorcycle with four wheels for better stability and typical car like controls with the ability to tilt to assure stability when turning corners.
A production version could cost around $10,000.
James is in the process of building a prototype to participate in the Progressive Automotive X-Prize Contest. He is in contact with manufacturers in India and China to produce the vehicle.
