Toyota has announced pricing information on the latest iteration of its Avalon flagship.
For 2013, the automaker has greatly simplified the price and feature breakdown for its flagship. Toyota has also dropped the entry point for the Avalon as well. The 2013 Toyota Avalon is offered with two engine choices and four different models. Features between the V-6 Avalon gas version and its hybrid counterpart are virtually identical.
The base 2013 Toyota Avalon XLE is gas-only and comes equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 coupled to a six speed automatic. Pricing starts at $31,785 which includes $795 for delivery, processing, and handling. The base 2012 Toyota Avalon, in comparison, started at $33,995 which includes $760 in DPH. Standard features on the 2013 Avalon include keyless entry, heated front seats, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The 2013 Toyota Avalon XLE Premium V-6 starts at $33,990 with the hybrid model offered at $36,350. The latter’s powertrain consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, two electric motors, and coupled to a continuously variable transmission. Horsepower is a combined 200 ponies. The XLE Premium trim offers all the standard features from the XLE plus backup camera and sunroof. The fuel-sipping Eco Switch–which allows drivers to choice drive modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport)–is found on hybrid trims.
The 2013 Toyota Avalon XLE Touring V-6 starts at $36,295 while the hybrid begins at $38,045. Additional standard features include GPS navigation, blind spot detection, and Toyota’s Entune interactive infotainment system. Toyota’s rear-cross traffic alert system is also standard on Avalon XLE Touring models, improving vehicle and pedestrian safety. Gas-powered models are also equipped with paddle shifters for a more sporty experience as well as Eco Switch.
The top-of-the-line 2013 Toyota Avalon Limited is the only trim offering an option package. The $1,750 Tech package brings active cruise control and a host of advanced safety systems to the Avalon. It is available on both V-6 and hybrid models. Pricing for the 2013 Toyota Avalon Limited gas-models starts at $40,445 while hybrid Avalon Limited models begin at $42,195. Some standard features on both Limited models include everything from lower trims plus premium leather seating, heated and ventilated front row seats, heated rear seats, and rear window powered shade.
