Both the all-new 2014 Toyota Corolla and redesigned 2014 Toyota Tundra have entered production, giving consumers something to look forward to this fall when they will land in showrooms. The Corolla is currently being produced at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Mississippi, Inc., while the Tundra is being built at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas Inc.
The Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car nameplate in the world with nearly 40 million units sold, and this year marks its 47th year on the market. In an effort for the automaker to design, develop, and build its vehicles where they will be sold, Toyota has been producing the Corolla in Mississippi since November 2011.
The completely redesigned 2014 Toyota Tundra was engineered by Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and designed by Calty Design Research centers in Newport Beach, California and Ann Arbor. The Tundra features 75 percent North American contents and is exclusively built in San Antonio, Texas.
Both the 2014 Toyota Corolla and Tundra models will be available in late September. Along with the September sales date, the month also marks the Texas plant’s one millionth vehicle built, and the following month the same plant will celebrate its ten year anniversary.
