Since the dawn of Facebook, almost every automaker has been using it to interact with its customers and tease upcoming models. Lexus is no different, as it too uses its Facebook page to tease followers with some smoky outlines of the upcoming 2013 Lexus LS 460. This is the first official image (pictured above) of the Japanese automaker’s latest edition of its flagship vehicle, which is slated to be unveiled on July 30.
All that’s really known about the 2013 Lexus LS is that it’s “taking shape,” and no other details can be seen from the image. The fifth-generation LS is set to launched in the fall of this year and Lexus has made it known that four models will be offered for the 2013 model year. Those models include the standard-issue LS 460, the LS 460 L (L standing for a longer wheelbase than the normal LS 460), the LS 600h L hybrid, and the LS 460 F-Sport. As before, the LS will target high-end luxury sedans such as the BMW 7 Series, Audi A8, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and the Porsche Panamera.
Automotive.com’s take: In an effort to drum up some interest for the upcoming LS, Lexus has begun the automotive equivalent of a Chinese water torture. Stay tuned as more images surface, as we expect they will, leading up to the official unveil of the 2013 Lexus LS on July 30.
