The Nissan Juke Has Crummy Back Seats, Being Recalled For Them

2012 Nissan JUKE

Given the, er, unique shape of the Nissan Juke, cramming real live human beings—or dead ones, Weekend at Bernie’s style—isn’t exactly an enjoyable proposition, both for the crammer and the crammee. But 11,076 examples of the Nissan Juke are being recalled because the rear seat striker might come apart, rendering a tiny backseat experience all the more harder to endure.

The Nissan Jukes are all 2013 models, built from February 3rd to May 26th. Their rear seatback strikers—the metal loops that click the rear seatback into place, when it’s not folded down—were improperly welded from the factory, and the seat back can flop down if it comes apart.

Nissan will replace the strikers when the recall begins later this month. If customers have any question about their uniquely styled bionic frog cars, they can call Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
