In celebration of International Bacon Day on August 31, Ford has wrapped the new Fiesta in bacon. Not real bacon, of course, but a wrap that customers can purchase to show their love of one of America’s favorite foods. This wrap looks good enough to eat.
Many will no doubt be salivating at the sight of the new wrap, especially on a car that offers fun and performance. “In the 40 years I’ve been in this business, I’ve never seen so much interest in bacon. It’s being used in bourbon, chocolate, ground beef, caramel corn and whatever else you can think of. This car just makes so much sense,” said Allan Benton, CEO of Benton’s Country Hams.
The wrap features ten giant strips of the delicious-looking bacon wrapped around the new Fiesta, and has been Benton-approved. Benton is also known among food writers and chefs as the King of Bacon, so having his approval makes this Fiesta fun to drive and good enough to eat.
The full-car bacon wrap isn’t the only design option that Ford is offering. If a full wrap isn’t your style, Bacon Racing Stripes, which take the place of traditional racing stripes, offer an attractive and tasty alternative, or you can just have a side of bacon. For those on a diet, the side of bacon is the perfect compromise, as two strips wrap over the rear wheel.
