Suzuki to debut Kizashi-Based Sedan to 2009 New York Auto Show

Suzuki Kizashi Concept Front Right

For weeks now, the Internet autosphere has been abuzz with reports that Suzuki has put its plans for a mid-sized/large car in the junkyard.
Not so, cries the Japanese automaker. To prove it, Suzuki has just announced it will debut said vehicle at this year’s New York Auto Show.

Posts eGMCarTech:

“The production version will debut at this year’s New York auto show in April,” Jeff Holland, spokesman for American Suzuki Motor Corp., told Automotive News in an interview today.

He said that Suzuki will reveal all official details on the mid-sized sedan and its showroom availability in New York.

Our take? The Kizashi concept is a pleasant-appearing enough vehicle. Personally, we see any production version based on it looking similar to Toyota/Lexus Camry or even the Mazda. Hey, if you have to imitate someone, you can’t really go wrong with those two.
