Subaru TRAX WRX STi bobsleds Snow like Rally Course

Subaru Wrx Sti Trax Rear Right

What do you get when you take a Subaru WRX STi and a set of cat tracks? Why, the ultimate snow cat and a rally car.

Built on a race-ready Subaru WRX STi platform, the STi’s already beefy 2.5 liter engine has been turbocharged, intercooled, and rebuilt to put out a whooping 400 horsepower. Combined with the snow tracks that it’s rolling on, and this, uh, hybrid, is ready for any road conditions.

That’s what DC Shoes founder and rally racing legend Ken Block found out when he took the TRAX STI paces in a video highlighting the vehicle’s newfound agility on the snow. In the video, Block looks like he’s driving on a rally course at the X-Games instead of at the top of a snow covered mountain, as he puts the STi through its paces, casually drifting around the corners with ease.

The builders of the STi wanted to emphasize how powerful and versatile the car is by being able to pull a custom fiberglass four-person sleigh that can hold four snow boarders and their gear, all by itself.

Our take? Next time we go skiing, screw the snowmobile we want one of these.
