Subaru has recalled 69,590 Legacy and Outback models for a potential moonroof defect. The 2011 models manufactured between August 3, 2010 and July 1, 2011 could have insufficient adhesive between the glass and retainer, and might have been improperly installed.
The moonroof glass in affected vehicles can loosen and detach while driving, resulting in a road hazard or increased accident risk. Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the glass adhesion. Affected vehicles will receive additional adhesive or an undamaged moonroof glass, free of charge.
The recall will begin in October, and customers may contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783, or the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 for more details.
