Spy Shots! 2013 Honda Civic Ditches Garb

2013-Honda-Civic-Spy-Shot-Front-Three-Quarters-View

Usually when automakers are testing new and upcoming models, they’ve got them hidden away under thick overcoats. Earlier this week we showed you pictures of the 2013 Honda Civic’s future competion—the 2014 Toyota Corolla. And while Toyota still has its 2014 compact under heavy wrap, Honda is just undoing the cover on its 2013, and we’ve got the photos to prove it.

For the rebounding Japanese automaker, the 2013 Honda Civic is no small affair. The current model was uninspired, and the media pounced. Recalls and assembly problems didn’t help anything, and Honda’s CEO even apologized for the poor effort, promising a better model and a return to form. The Jury’s still out, but we can tell that Honda did alter the front end considerably. The 2013 Civic takes its cues from the 2013 Honda Accord. The upcoming Civic will have a new grille, headlights, and front bumper. The rear end was not overlooked, getting new taillights and some reshaping. While the exterior will offer new styling, it’s the interior that received a lot of criticism. We’d expect a more modern, cohesive aesthetic for the new model.
