Previously, the only BMW 2-Series prototypes seen were smothered in camouflage, making it harder for us to figure out what the production-ready car would look like. Today, we caught the BMW M235i at an official photo shoot where most of the camouflage has been done away with. Even several months before its official debut, we see that it is showroom ready.
The bright red exterior paint shows off the sporty and muscular design, and when combined with the new front fascia, the M235i has an aggressive look that’s easy to see. It features M-sport wheels and brake calipers, with strong character lines running through the side of the body. Although it may be blurry, the M badge on the front quarter panel can be seen.
Regardless of the little black photo foil covering up the rear of the car, you can still make out the dual black tip exhaust outlets and trunk lid spoiler. Under the hood is the N55 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine that produces between 315 and 325 horsepower. It will be paired with either a seven- or eight-speed automatic transmission. The BMW M235i will make its official debut later this year.
