In the City of Lights a star is born—or rather, the ForStars—will be born. Expected to debut at the upcoming Paris Auto Show later this month, Smart will be debuting its newest concept, the Smart ForStars. The microcar company loves concepts and seems to have an endless stock of them, so we won’t speculate much about production here. But there are some attributes of the electrically-powered ForStars that are pretty neat.
For one, the normally cutesy and quirky designs are brushed aside for a sportier, more aggressive look that is vaguely Mini-esque. Generous LED headlights and plenty of sculpting up front give the ForStars a more pronounced look. The taillights in back have a couple of unique features: one opens up to reveal a socket to charge the high-voltage battery (useful), and the other can hold a beverage can (yes, it’s a concept). Another unique feature is a video projector, which plays upon the “For-Stars” name, as does the glass roof that literally gives you a view of the stars (where available). The tailgate in back gives this Smart a little more practicality and room for basic grocery runs and the like. Fittingly, the Smart ForStars will be shown off for the first time not far from Paris’s biggest star— the Place de l’Etoile.
