We’ve seen a host of peculiar videos online, and in this case, the adage “seeing is believing” holds true. When it comes to cars, we often think of “what if” scenarios, and apparently we’re not the only ones. In a classic bumper-pull tug-of-war, we find a not so classic pairing: a Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI versus a Chevrolet Duramax full-size pickup truck. Far from a traditional pairing, the Duramax is often associated with a big payload and heavy towing capacity, while the Touareg makes a living as a family hauler. Granted, a current Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax packs nearly 400 horses and while getting an absurd amount of low-end power out of its 6.6-liter diesel engine.

The Volkswagen Touareg seen here employs a hefty V-10 turbocharged diesel engine, one that was replaced by a smaller, more fuel efficient turbocharged V-6 a few years ago in North America. Nevertheless, the V-10 Touareg here packs a formidable punch. Our favorite quote? “You know you’re a redneck when…”
