Apparently, even shelling out six-figures for a premium luxury sedan won’t spare you from recalls. Porsche is recalling 270 models, including the 2011-2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo; 2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo S; and 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. In the NHTSA report, the affected models may have an issue with a faulty turbocharger, as the “turbine wheel of the turbocharger may fracture.” A fracture can lead to decrease in vehicle performance, and an increased risk of fire, according to the report.

Porsche knows of 37 such cases, but says no injuries have been reported as a result. Porsche will contact owners this month to remedy the problem. Porsche owners of the affected models can also call Porsche 1-800-767-7243 using safety recall number AC04. Owners can also get more information on the NHTSA’s website, www.safecar.gov, or call 1-888-327-4236.
