While it’s not the most extensive recall Honda has ever conducted the Japanese auto maker has announced it has recalled a grand total of nine 2012 Odyssey vans with a front suspension issue. Vans assembled from November 30 to October 21, 2011 are believed to have a retention nut for the front right lower suspension damper bolt that wasn’t tightened quite right. If the bolt isn’t properly tightened both the retention nut and damper bolt can become lose. If the bolt does become lose the wheel assembly would be forced to shift at an extreme inward angle which in turn makes steering almost impossible.
If you own a 2012 Honda Odyssey and haven’t gotten a call from Honda yet you have nothing to worry about. Since only nine vans were affected Honda called the owners on December 19, 2011 to alert them of the recall. Repairs were made free of charge as well.
Also facing a tiny recall is the 2012 Jaguar XJ. Apparently 51 XJs assembled between September 7 and November 24, 2011 left the assembly line with the incorrect gross vehicle weight rating label. This can cause trouble because owners may overload their XJ, potentially causing a stability problem. Jaguar will notify owners and dealers to replace the label, a service that will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin around January 23, 2012 but concerned owners can contact Jaguar at (800) 452-4827.
