Enthusiasts who want a Jeep-branded pickup truck are in for a pleasant surprise, today. Mopar, Chrysler’s in-house parts and accessories division, has announced the availability of the JK-8 kit for the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The kit allows owners to transform their SUV into a pickup reminiscent of the Jeep Comanche, the brand’s last truck.
Officially called the Mopar JK8 Body Weld Kit Complete, the kit contains the following major components:
- Fiberglass bulkhead
- Fixed side windows (two)
- Freedom panel assembly
- Removable fiberglass hardtop with sliding rear window
- Sport bar extensions
- Stamped inner and outer bedside sheet metal
- Steel bed
Assembly instructions are included.
Buyers can order the kit at Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram dealerships that can also assemble it upon request. The kit is priced at $5499 and uses a single part number (77070049) for easy ordering.
Mopar first displayed the JK-8 kit for the Wrangler Unlimited at the 2011 Moab Jeep Safari.
