Subaru has announced the pricing for the 2014 Legacy and Outback models and claims there is no increase in pricing over the 2013 models. The 2014 Subaru Legacy starts at $21,090, including $795 for destination and handling (a $25 bump in destination charges), and remains the most affordable midsize all-wheel drive sedan in the U.S. The 2014 Subaru Outback starts at $24,320.
Subaru has posted five consecutive years of sales increases and has exceeded 300,000 annual sales in the U.S. for the first time in 2012. Since the beginning of the year through April, the automaker has already sold 125,470 vehicles, keeping the company on course for another record-breaking year.
Both the 2014 Legacy and Outback come standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, with the base models possessing a 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine that delivers 173 horsepower. This engine was introduced for the 2013 model year and has helped to boost fuel economy in these vehicles.
For the 2014 model year, the EyeSight driver-assist system, which uses stereo camera technology that integrates Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning, is available in the Premium trim line.
