In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 911 (which was sort of a big deal at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance), Porsche put together this short little video to show off the new 911 50th Anniversary edition. Using the Classics at the Castle event as the backdrop and music you might find more fitting for a wedding, Porsche brings us the 50th Anniversary 911 special edition.
Tony Hatter, Porsche Design Manager, points out the special touches seen on this new model. To celebrate the history of the 911, the anniversary model features aspects first seen on the original 911 model. Hatter describes how the new model incorporates elements from the last fifty years of the nameplate that have been reimagined in a modern context.
The 50th Anniversary 911 features the classic black and chrome grille in the back, hound’s-tooth cloth seats that are wrapped in leather on the sides, green numerals, and 20-inch Fox wheels, all of which have been placed on the wider Carrera 4 body. However, this special edition is two-wheel drive, just like the 1964 original.
