The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car will make its debut in iconic Martini Racing Stripes. The new car will be driven during the opening round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in Catalunya, Barcelona by Sebastien Loeb, nine-time world champion, in celebration of the Martini 150th Anniversary.
Martini, the world’s number one vermouth and favorite branded Italian sparkling wine, has dug up some of its heritage to be seen on the new car. It will have the distinctive dark blue, light blue, and red stripes of Martini Racing for the first time since 2008.
Loeb isn’t a stranger to the circuit as he often enters different championships with the determination and courage he’s become famous for. The three-pronged campaign will highlight the history of Martini Racing, and Loeb will compete in two rounds of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, the first being in Catalunya on May 12, and his second appearance will be in Monte Carlo on May 26.
“This is an extraordinary year for Martini as we are celebrating our 150 Anniversary. Partnering with Porsche once again, during 50 Years of 911, and seeing the new 911 GT3 Cup car adorned with Martini Racing Stripes is a special moment for the brand and Martini Racing enthusiast alike,” said Arnaud Meysselle, Martini Global Category Director of Vermouth and Sparkling Wine, in a recent interview.
After the first two races, a driver–as yet unnamed–will take the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, starting at the Martini home circuit in Monza, Italy later this year on September 8.
