The G8 is arguably one of the better offerings in the Pontiac lineup. Derived from the Australian Holden Commodore, it makes one wonder if we here in the states will be getting any other of the Commodore based variants.
It was recently confirmed that the “Ute” would be arriving here as the G8 sport truck, and the GXP has been given the green light as well.
Unfortunately, the recent demise of the Magnum wagon has killed the G8 wagon, as it alone signals the lack of sales volume to justify the development of that model for America.
On the other hand, a G8 coupe is still a possibility, especially since it could prove to be a unique alternative in a soon to be crowded pony car segment, and Pontiac no longer has a Firebird.
Our take? All good, but it would be even better if the wagon came here…
