The Fiat 500L MPV has yet to launch after debuting at this year’s Geneva Auto Show, but Fiat is already teasing a new crossover to compete with the likes of the Mini Countryman. The Fiat 500X was recently shown at a press event in Italy, and the automaker’s timing may indicate we could see the 500X up close and personal at the Paris Motor Show in September.
The Fiat 500X is supposed to share the same underpinnings as the 500L, and we would assume it would be powered by the same 1.4-liter gasoline and 1.3-liter diesel engines. We can’t see the interior, but it’s possible designers are still tweaking it to give it a more pronounced crossover feel. Given the timing, and in line with the 500L, we could see production of the playful and toy-like crossover commence sometime later next year. Be sure to follow along for updates as more information and images are sure to break ahead of the Paris Motor Show, if in fact we’ll see it there.
