President Barack Obama promised, during his campaign for the presidency last year, to put major focus on clean energy development and the improvement of the electric grid.Well, an energy bill is making its way through Congress. According to Reuters, a large chunk of money from the stimulus program will be used to create a “smart grid.” The system will use new, state-of-the art systems and software to monitor and regulate the power grid.
The “smart grid” is expected to bring energy from clean sources to consumers in 49 states. The President made the announcement on Tuesday, October 27, at a solar energy center in Arcadia, Florida.
