No convertibles for 2009 Dodge Challenger, 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Ford Mustang Convertible Front Right Closeup

Though the introductions of both the Dodge Challenger and the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro seem to indicate that the Ford Mustang may no longer be top “pony” in its class, its competitors are set to fall short in one key category.
Choices.

Both muscle cars will be available as coupes only, not as convertibles. The Challenger is based off the Chrysler 300 platform, which was never intended to be roofless. The Chrysler Camaro convertible is being held back by General Motors’ money woes.

In other words, if a ragtop pony car is the car of your dreams, you better be willing to back the blue oval.

Our Take? Again, the Ford Mustang proves to be a solid competitor in the class whether it be through value, availability, of choices.
