Nissan has issued a recall for certain Juke crossovers assembled for the 2011 and 2012 model year. Infiniti is also recalling certain M and QX models also manufactured for the 2011 and 2012 model year.

At the root of the recall is a faulty fuel pressure sensor that may not have been tightened properly. In turn the fuel pressure sensor can loosen over time as it’s exposed to heat and engine vibrations. This can become an issue because the fuel can begin to leak, which increases the risk of a fire.

Nissan will notify owners and dealerships will inspect and replace the fuel pressure sensor if necessary free of charge. The recall procedure is expected to begin March 19, 2012 and concerned owners can contact Nissan directly at (615) 725-1000. You can also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through its vehicle safety hotline at (888) 327-4236.
