Nissan GT-R vs. Porsche 911 Carrera S: Head 2 Head

Even sports cars can’t escape the technological, information age revolution—but can embracing this technology make for a more pure driving experience? Can it be safer, but still more fun?

Our colleagues at sister site Motor Trend did a little digging on the latest episode of Head 2 Head. Pitting the 2013 Nissan GT-R against the Porsche 911 Carrera S, the crew examined how electronic systems meant to keep the car safe and grounded play in to the driving experience. The 545-horsepower front-engine Nissan GT-R has the horsepower advantage, but the Porsche 911 Carrera S is a rear-engine sports car, meaning the horsepower has to travel a shorter distance to get to the rear wheels. Both four-seaters have exceptional all-wheel-drive systems, and employ twin-clutch transmissions. But which one is more rewarding coming out of a corner? You’ll just have to watch, to find out.
