Next-Generation Infiniti G Lineup to Bow at 2013 Geneva Motor Show

While it’s still a ways out, the next-generation Infiniti G series lineup is already set to debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March of next year. The G is Infiniti’s most popular vehicle, but has only seen minor tweaks over the past generation.

The current G lineup already features aggressive styling, but the next version is said to be even more sporty and dynamic than its predecessor. Little is known about the latest version of the G lineup but Infiniti has already confirmed that there will be a sedan, coupe, and convertible model offered. What will lie underneath the hood is anyone’s guess, but the current gen employs a 3.7-liter V-6 gasoline engine. The European version will be available with a four-cylinder gasoline or diesel engine that’s been sourced from Mercedes-Benz. Don’t get too excited though, as it’s common for both the United States and Europe to get similar models but different engine options. Usually, diesel is left out because of Americans’ undying love for hybrid vehicles.

The current model originally debuted in 2007. The G is no stranger to the Geneva Motor Show either. In 2009, the G37 replaced the G35 thanks to a new engine (a 3.5-liter in the G35 and a 3.7-liter engine replaced that, hence G37), and was officially unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.

Details for the new Infiniti G lineup are sparse still but we expect more information to show itself as the official unveil date draws closer. Stay tuned.
