Wonder how each car actually reacts to the twists and turns? You can now find out with Motor Trend’s Virtual Road Test. It’s not a video game, although it does look like one at first view.
What the Virtual Road Test does is give you, the viewer, a chance to watch and interact with the tests the magazine has performed on the track.
This particular road test compares the 2007 Audi S6, 2007 Mercedes-Benz E63, and the 2006 BMW M5. (Test results from the February, 2007 issue of Motor Trend.) The animated vehicles actually follow the exact movements of the real-world cars during actual tests thanks to a series of sensors that recorded each car’s speed, path, pitch, roll, slide angle and steering angle.

Our take? Hey, Motor Trend! Some of us use Macs, which there’s no software to run the test. MacIntosh invented the personal computer. How ‘bout giving those guys a break!
