Men, Women use Auto GPS Navigation Differently

Woman With Carkeys

Back in the 1950s there was a popular song called, “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better.” It was meant to be song as a duet — a man and woman — and it stoked the competition between the sexes.
We were reminded of this tune when reading that NAVTEQ, a company that provides traffic information through navigation systems, did a survey which showed that there are differences on how men and women use and look upon navigation systems.

Some of the findings of the study are:

that women get information about navigation systems prior to a purchase by word of mouth while men get it from the media.
that the highest percentage of men buy their PND from electronics stores while a higher percentage of women buy online or at a grocery.
that women use the “Point of Interest” feature less than men. And 15 percent of women do not use POI or traffic features at all.
that 80 percent of men say that they are “extremely” or “very” satisfied with their navigation system while only 60 percent of women say the same.

HAHAHA….well I have a GPS and I never really thought that men and woman use them any differently. Although is does seem that men get to some directions faster, specially if its a point of interest.

Hmmm…no surprise here…seeing how men will never stop and ask for directions when traveling without a GPS. The story between sexes will always be different.
