Car audio manufacturers have been trying to come up with a television for the car since the 1990s. The problem is, how do you get the signal to a moving object? Recent technology has come up with a way. Stream the data.
Audiovox, in partnership with MediaFlow, has unveiled a television at the recent International Consumer Electronics Show that will receive as many as 24 channels of streaming video of live television. The multimedia receiver will carry the Jensen brand name and will be available later this year.
In addition, MediaFlow has said that it will expand its FLO TV to more markets in the U.S. including Boston, Cleveland, Houston, Miami and San Francisco.
By the way, Audiovox will offer the technology on products made for the aftermarket and OEM.
