Wait, what? Johannesburg?
Yes, the 2012 Lexus GS 350 F-Sport really did make an appearance at the Johannesburg Auto Show earlier today. Initially, Lexus had planned to unveil the sport tourer at SEMA in November, but reversed course.
According to Autoguide.com, Lexus of South Africa posted pictures of the unveiling on its Facebook page. Autoguide still has pictures, but from what we can tell, Lexus of South Africa must have removed them.
Little is known about the new GS 350 F-Sport, but judging by the photos, we see minor changes, such as smoked wheels, a more aggressive front bumper, and the familiar exhaust integrated-in-the-bumper rear end. It’s also fair to suspect that the GS 350 F-Sport will have the same 3.5-liter V-6 as the base GS 350, though it should also see either a more aggressive sport tune, or reduced weight, in addition to revised and stiffer suspension, possibly larger brakes, and better tires.
We’re looking forward to SEMA to find out for certain.
