The 2013 Honda Accord will be available in the U.S. well before the end of 2012. Yet, hardly anyone has seen much of it beyond the Accord coupe concept that debuted at this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, a car said to be 90 percent finalized of what the next midsize sedan will look like.
Fortunately, the internet works in mysterious ways, and someone leaked out an alleged ordering sheet for the popular sedan. If the sheet is to be believed, there will be some trim changes between the 2012 and 2013 model years. The Accord SE sedan will be no more, according the the sheet, replaced by the Accord Sport. Otherwise, the sedan range will continue with LX, EX, EX-L, and EX-L with Navigation trim levels, with a new Accord TRG model at the top of the heap. Four-cylinder sedans will come with either a six-speed manual transmission, replacing 2012′s standard five-speed, or an available continuously variable automatic transmission. The 2013 Honda Accord V-6 models will come paired exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission. Those expecting the return of the six-speed manual transmission with the V-6-powered sedan or a hybrid model right off the bat will likely be disappointed.
Coupe versions of the 2013 Honda Accord will have slightly different trim levels. Four-cylinder Accord LX-S and EX coupes will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission and the CVT optionally available. Accord EX-L and EX-L with Navigation models will come exclusively with the automatic transmission.
Honda Accord coupes with V-6 engines will come in EX-L or EX-L with Navigation guise and will have either the six-speed automatic or manual transmission available. If the 2013 Honda Accord ordering sheet obtained by the website Temple of VTEC is to be believed, the family sedan won’t undergo much in the way of drastic changes.
But as the sedan is constantly one of the best-selling vehicles in the U.S., it might not need to. Then again, the Accord did lose its No. 2 spot to the Nissan Altima last year, and that car is getting a massive overhaul for 2013.
