Kia to Unveil Superman Optima Hybrid at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show

Superman

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s another Justice League-inspired vehicle from Kia’s partnership with DC Entertainment. We’ve already seen Kia vehicles dressed as Batman, Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern. Now, we have the Superman Optima Hybrid, all of which are part of the “We Can Be Heroes” campaign benefiting children, women, and families who live in the Horn of Africa and are stricken by drought and famine.

The five aforementioned vehicles were all shown off at the 2012 Specialty Equipment Market Association in Las Vegas last year. At the show, Kia pulled the wraps off a Forte Koup dressed as Flash, Aquaman as a Rio five-door, Green Lantern as a Soul, Cyborg as a Forte five-door, and Batman was an Optima. The latest superhero to be represented is the Man of Steel on an Optima Hybrid. The teaser image above release by Kia signals that the Optima Hybrid will be decked out with red five-spoke wheels, Superman badges on the hood and front grille, and red headlights. A blue exterior paint has been chosen to depict Superman as a Kia Optima Hybrid, with red accents around the front grille and down the sides of the vehicle itself.

To see more of the Superman-inspired Kia Optima Hybrid, you’re going to have to wait until next week, when the 2013 Chicago Auto Show kicks off. If any of the other five Justice League-inspired Kia’s are any indication, you can expect color coordinated themes and a futuristic paint scheme on the Superman Optima Hybrid. Once we see more, we’ll relay it to you, so stay tuned.
