Jeep’s heavyweight offroader, the Wrangler, has been added to Jeep’s Limited Edition Altitude line. Jeep unveiled its latest Altitude model as part of an announcement that it had entered a marketing partnership with the U.S. Olympic basketball team. The new advertising campaign is set to air starting April 28, and will feature two-time USA Basketball team member Chris Paul, as well as rapper/actor Common. The marketing campaign is known as the “Power Within,” and will feature footage from the 2008 men’s basketball team that took home the gold medal.
“The Jeep brand has always been associated with the American spirit and as a member of the 2012 USA Men’s Basketball National Team, I am proud to serve as spokesman for Jeep’s partnership with USA Basketball,” said Paul. “The concept of the ‘Power Within’ is evidenced in my everyday life, both on and off the court. It will be that power that will energize the USA Basketball and Jeep to maximize this global partnership in support of the Men’s and Women’s National Teams.”
As for the Wrangler shown off during the announcement of Jeep and USA basketball forming a marketing partnership, it will feature the usual Altitude styling cues inside and out, which includes a body-color hardtop, and matching center sections seen on the front and rear bumpers. The Limited Edition Altitude Wrangler will roll on 18-inch alloy wheels dipped in black with polished wheel rings. Other exterior styling cues include lots of black: a Mopar black fuel door; a black hood graphic; and a matte black “Jeep” grille badge. Inside, a black-and-red theme is seen all over the place particularly with red accented stitching seen on the black leather seats, door panels, floor mats, center console, and steering wheel. Rounding out the rest of the blacked-out accents and features include all of the door pulls, the passenger side dashboard grab handle, vent rings, steering wheel spokes, and berber floor mats.
The Wrangler Altitude Limited Edition will be available in a Deep Cherry Red, Bright White, Bright Silver Metallic, and, of course, Black. The latest limited edition Wrangler will start at $33,740 and will begin showing up at dealerships around the country next month along with the rest of the Altitude Limited Edition lineup. If you’re interested in a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Altitude Limited Edition you better put your order in now, as only 4,500 will be produced.
