Infiniti Q45 Recalled to Fix Airbag Wiring Connectors

2003 Infiniti Q45 Exterior Front Quarter

Nissan is recalling 2003 to 2005 Infiniti Q45 luxury cars to replace a wiring connector in the side airbag modules that could cause a malfunction. Because of the faulty wiring connector in seat-mounted airbags, electrical resistance could make them fail to deploy in the event of a collision. That, in turn, could increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

The recall affects potentially every Infiniti Q45 manufactured for the aforementioned model years. Nissan will begin contacting vehicle owners March 12, 2012. The automaker will fix the electrical connectors at Infiniti dealers free of charge.

Should there be any further questions regarding the Infiniti Q45′s recall, owners can contact Nissan’s customer service line directly at (800) 647-7261 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s safety hotline at (888) 327-4236, referencing campaign numberĀ 12V079000.
