Ignition’s episode 29 takes us back to our sandbox days, Motor Trend style. When you’re given a Ford F-150 Raptor, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to head to a track. Employing wisdom, the Ignition Crew take the raptor for a little off-roading in the sand. The Raptor is five inches longer than a traditional Ford F-150—if you’ve driven a regular F-150 you know how big they are—and boasts ample off-road capability. Yet Motor Trend‘s Carlos Lago says the big surprise, is how well the Raptor fares on-road.

The 2012 Ford SVT Raptor utilizes a massive 6.2-liter V-8 that capable of 411-hp, which is suitable for any surface you might take it on. A neat feature is also a camera hidden away in the front end, which can give you needed visibility if you’re in a hilly or rocky area and can’t see well over the hood. You can check out Raptor in its natural habitat below.
