Motor Trend’s Carlos Lago and Randy Pobst head out to the track at Streets of Willow to test out the 2014 Nissan GT-R Track Pack, the latest version of one of the most extreme performance cars out there at any price. For the 2014 model year, the GT-R doesn’t get any power or torque upgrades, but it does get some subtle tweaks that add up in a big way. So how did it compare to previous generation GT-Rs?
The video opens up with the racing history of the Nissan GT-R, and though it doesn’t compete regularly today, the elements seen in previous GT-Rs are still visible in the new model. The GT-R has always been a magic number generator, delivering superlative numbers, and redefines what’s possible for a car to do. But this GT-R isn’t going through the magazine tests; it’s headed out to the track to see what it’s capable of.
